Charles Babbage (1792 - 1871)
Economista, matemático y técnico mecánico inglés, quien, después de largos años de pruebas inventó una "máquina" de calcular que ganó la admiración y aplauso de casi todos los hombres de ciencia de su época (1792-1871). Sus obras más importantes son: Dn the Economy of Machinery qnd Manufactures (1832); A comparative view of the Various lnstitutions for the Assurance of Lives (1826); Thoughts on the PrincipIes of Taxation, with reference to a Property Tax and its Exceptions (1848) y The Exposition of 1851 or views on the lndustry, the Science and the Government of EngIand (1851).
